Sustainability Coordinator

Jennifer Sayers

Jenny started with the OEP as a student intern in May 2006.  She has since graduated with a BA in Environmental Studies and rejoined the OEP as UConn's Sustainability Coordinator in August 2008.  Jenny's responsibilities range from coordinating campus recycling outreach to overseeing the Sustainable Offices program.  She serves as the OEP liaison for many environmental literacy initiatives across campus including EcoHouse, environmental studies programs, and the spring climate change teach-in.  Jenny also supervises the team of OEP student interns and works closely with the various student environmental organizations.

    Jenny has amassed extensive experience in environmental education including teaching with the Connecticut Forest & Park Association and for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration in American Samoa.  Her senior thesis included a trip to Malta to study the national EkoSkola ("Eco-Schools") program.  In her spare time, you can usually find her outside, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, trail running, skiing, canoeing, or playing in the snow.
