Plug Power Inc. has commissioned a backup power fuel cell for T-Mobile, a wireless company in Connecticut.
Plug (Nasdaq: PLUG), based in Latham, said it is the first backup power fuel cell for a wireless application in the state. The 5-kilowatt GenCore hydrogen fuel cell will provide backup power for a T-Mobile cell tower in Storrs, Conn. The tower is located at the University of Connecticut's campus.
"This installation serves as a milestone for Plug Power, T-Mobile and the state of Connecticut," said PLUG CEO Andy Marsh.
