Annual Spring Move-Out Campaign

Program History
At the conclusion of the Spring 2004 semester, the Outreach Subcommittee of the Environmental Policy Advisory Council (EPAC) organized a “Move Out” campaign for the Hale, Ellsworth and Hilltop residence halls. As a result of the Move Out, over 2500 lbs. of clothing, goods and non-perishable food that otherwise would have entered the trash stream was “saved” and donated to the Windham Area Interfaith Ministry, the Coventry Soup Kitchen, and soldiers stationed overseas in Iraq.
Building Momentum
Today, the Move-Out Program continues to be conducted at the conclusion of each semester through the diligent efforts of the GreenGrads student group. With assistance from the Department of Residential Life, the GreenGrads set out collection boxes in central locations across campus.
