Land Use & Sustainable Development

The Land Use and Sustainable Development Subcommittee (LUSD) was established as one of three main subcommittees within the Environmental Policy Advisory Council (EPAC) in 2003. This subcommittee was formed to develop “green” building and low-impact design principles for our construction program, foster open space conservation, and encourage natural resource protection and habitat restoration. The subcommittee has since expanded to several workgroups focused on specific initiatives within the LUSD scope of goals, and these workgroup initiatives may be viewed below.
