UConn Compost Facility

Facility Information

The UConn Compost Facility will be a 10,000 sq. ft. hoop barn structure constructed on a concrete pad and will resemble the hoop barns pictured below.  For anyone familiar with Horsebarn Hill, the Cattle Resources Unit is an example of a hoop barn already standing on the UConn campus.

  There will also be a 10,000 sq. ft. paved pad for finished compost.

Expected Deliveries:

Dry Manure: 10-15 trucks/week Leaves: 5-10 trucks/day 6 weeks/year (late Fall & early Spring)
Liquid Manure: 1-2 trucks every other week
