Mark R. Shenkman Training Center

Completed in the Summer of 2006, the Mark R. Shenkman training center and the Burton Family Football Complex is a state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly athletics hub at the UConn Storrs campus. Heralded as the NCAA’s first LEED*-registered and first Silver LEED-certified athletic facilities, the two connected buildings, boast a profound number of “green” aspects.

*LEED: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. It is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.
