After hearing several concerns about the lack of recycling bins at the Student Union, the Student Union directors decided to ramp-up the recycling initiative in the new student facility. The associate director of the Student Union, Chuck Morrell took on the initiative to have new bins ordered and installed throughout the building.
With the help and promotion of student organizations, like the EcoHusky Student Group, this highlight of the new recycling program at UConn has been a warmly welcomed success. During the Summer of 2007, the program successfully rolled out with 85 bins installed throughout the Student Union.
