Give & Go 2009 collected 9000 lbs. of materials that were donated to 20 different local town agencies and non-profit organizations.

Furniture: 2,747 lbs.

Appliances: 1,269 lbs.

Area rugs: 1,740 lbs.

Non-perishable foods: 791 lbs.

Clothing & Shoes: 722 lbs.

Assorted linens: 278 lbs.      

Categories weighing in below 200 lbs. included: paper goods, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, personal hygiene items, kitchen supplies, school supplies, sports equipment, and assorted others.

This year, instead of simply throwing away any gently used items that don't fit in your car/bus/train/plane, you can donate them to local non-profit organizations and town agencies to be put to good use in our local community!

A small force of UConn students, faculty, and staff will be waiting for your donations at collection locations in most of the residential areas around campus.
